The Maisie Wilen Fall-Winter 2022 Holographic Experience revolutionized the traditional runway by merging high fashion with volumetric video technology. Staged during New York Fashion Week in partnership with Yahoo and Verizon, the immersive presentation traded physical models for 28 seven-foot-tall holographic loops styled with a futuristic, sci-fi aesthetic. Captured via a massive 106-camera array, these high-definition digital projections performed repetitive movements like real-world GIFs in a gallery setting. The project expanded globally through a web-based augmented reality experience, allowing remote viewers to project the 3D models into their own spaces and purchase the collection directly through a first-of-its-kind shoppable digital lookbook.
