I served as one of two music supervisors for the acclaimed documentary film The Disappearance of My Mother, directed by Beniamino Barrese and produced by RYOT Films. Helping to navigate the sonic moods of this intimate project required complex music licensing challenges to secure the perfect tracks for the narrative. A major highlight of this role involved coordinating a crucial sync clearance with Justin Vernon of Bon Iver. To secure the rights, I facilitated a personal, heartfelt letter from the director directly to Justin explaining the deep emotional importance of utilizing his music in the film. The artist connected with the creative vision and agreed, providing a pivotal emotional anchor for the documentary's soundtrack.
