Project Management (Augmented Reality)

"The Black Lives Matter Murals in Augmented Reality" was a powerful, socially conscious preservation project launched in mid-2020 by Verizon Media and Yahoo RYOT Lab to document and immortalize public street art created during the historic racial justice protests following the death of George Floyd. Recognizing that physical street murals are inherently ephemeral and vulnerable to weather, vandalism, or removal, the creative team utilized high-fidelity drone photogrammetry to scan and map large-scale community murals across Los Angeles into precise 3D digital assets. The project seamlessly integrated these assets into a web-native augmented reality experience, allowing global audiences to virtually overlay the massive street art onto their immediate physical environments using an iPhone or AR-compatible Android device. By converting fleeting public art into permanent spatial historical records, the tech-forward campaign successfully pioneered new standards for digital heritage curation, social activism storytelling, and accessible open-air virtual archiving.
