"Black Art. Black Stories. Black Voices." was a high-profile digital showcase launched in late 2021 by Yahoo Creative Labs to celebrate the intersection of Black creativity, immersive technology, and creative autonomy. Building upon the technical and socially conscious framework of Yahoo's previous virtual gallery initiatives, this project helped eight leading Black creators transition their physical masterpieces into the digital space using custom web-based augmented reality and non-fungible tokens. The cross-dimensional art collection culminated in an exclusive digital auction hosted on the premium NFT marketplace SuperRare, with 100% of the proceeds returning directly to the artists, including prominent international figures like Sekai Machache. Complemented by a live-streamed panel broadcast debating artistic visibility and blockchain equity, the campaign successfully combined spatial web tools with decentralized finance to create an impactful model for digital empowerment.
