Matt Valerio
I’m Matt Valerio, a multidisciplinary artist, musician, writer, and creative producer working across music, visual art, film, immersive media, and advertising. I’m a former member of the music groups Restiform Bodies and Bat Rays, as well as an occasional solo artist. I’ve toured the US and Europe, remixed artists including Grizzly Bear and Of Montreal, played shows with Arcade Fire and Animal Collective, and exhibited visual work at SXSW, in Berlin, and around the country.
Over the years, I’ve project managed AR and VR projects for Yahoo RYOT Studios, produced music and art-focused web series, written artist profiles for zines and local publications, and music supervised short and feature films that premiered at the Sundance and TriBeCa film festivals. I also run The Bomarr Blog and its long-running Background Noise artist interview series.
By day, I’m a Senior Project Manager at Omnicom Production in Los Angeles. On the side, I work at beloved Long Beach record store Fingerprints, run the Instagram accounts Art Openings LA and Business Puns, and make limited-run T-shirts, books, stickers, pins, and other things that seem like a good idea at the time.
